Transparent, Reproducible, and Replicable Findings
Since 2022, I have served as co-founder and Associate Editor of Transparency, Open Science, and Registered Reports at Global Environmental Psychology, a diamond open-access journal with high transparency and open science standards. I also received a 2020 Commendation from the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science for a repository of open psychological datasets.
My group achieves 100% sharing of materials, code, and data except where the data cannot be anonymized (e.g., qualitative interviews with vulnerable climate activists; Sach et al., 2026) or we are not the data controller (e.g., millions of behaviors recorded by the AWorld app; Dablander et al., 2026). I train students how to code reproducible analysis, and we aim for computational reproducibility for all papers using R Markdown, which reduces errors and increases verifiability.
I pre-register all confirmatory analyses and have published replications (e.g., Brick, Fillon, et al., 2021), informative null results (e.g., Brick & Sherman, 2021), methods and validity work (e.g., Kause et al., 2026), and many Registered Reports. In 2026, I contributed to a 31-country replication of 274 social and behavioral claims (Tyner et al., 2026), which revealed that half of claims replicated successfully and effect sizes were on average less than half of the original magnitude. These findings reinforce that pre-registration for confirmatory designs, effect size and power planning, replication, and transparent reporting are core standards.
